Purchase Orders & Invoicing

Invoicing

How Invoices work, independently of Purchase Orders.

An Invoice is for billing someone — it's a separate concept from a Purchase Order, not something generated from one.

What an invoice can bill against

An invoice isn't limited to one use case. It can be a general invoice unrelated to any other module, or it can be tied to a specific Schedule Request or Work Request — for example, billing for a room rental or for work performed.

Recording payment

An invoice can have one or more payments recorded against it — it doesn't have to be paid in a single transaction. FMX tracks how much has been paid so far against the total owed.

How this connects to budgets

Invoice payments are one of the cost sources that feed Financial Planning Budget Categories, the same way Purchase Order activity does.
