Schedule Requests

Overview of the Schedule Requests module — booking rooms and other resources for events.

A Schedule Request is how you reserve a room or other bookable resource — like AV equipment or tables — for an event or activity.

How this differs from Work Requests and Work Tasks

Work Requests report a problem; Work Tasks are recurring maintenance staff schedules for themselves. A Schedule Request is neither — it's a reservation for a future event, made by whoever needs the space or equipment.

Note: "Schedule Requests" is FMX's default name for this module, but your organization can rename it. If your account calls it something else, that's why.

What you can book

A Schedule Request can include one or more resources — rooms, equipment, or other bookable items your organization has set up — plus a quantity if the resource supports it (for example, requesting 20 chairs). If you need something that isn't in the configured list, there's also a free-text option for describing it.

What happens after you submit

Depending on how the resources you requested are configured, your request may need approval, a cost estimate, or an invoice before it's finalized — each resource can have its own requirements, so a single request can trigger different steps depending on what's in it. See Schedule Request Statuses for the full picture.

If your request overlaps with another booking on the same resource, it may be flagged as a conflict rather than rejected outright — see Resource Conflicts for how that's handled.

Whether your organization uses this

Schedule Requests can be enabled or disabled per organization. If you don't see this option, your organization hasn't turned it on.
