Inventory
Inventory
Overview of Inventory — tracking stocked items, their cost, and where they're kept.
Inventory tracks the parts and supplies your organization keeps on hand — quantity, cost, and location — so you know what you have and when you're running low.
Where inventory lives
Each inventory item belongs to a specific building, plus a location within it — either a predefined room or space, or a free-text description if what you need isn't in the predefined list. There isn't a separate "warehouse" concept; location is just building plus where in that building it's kept.
What you'll find covered here
- Inventory Items — the fields tracked on an item, and what "running low" means.
- Adjusting and Transferring Inventory — changing quantity on hand and moving stock between locations.
- Using Inventory on Requests — how Work Requests and Work Tasks draw from inventory, and how Purchase Orders add to it.
Whether your organization uses this
Inventory is an organization-wide feature that's either on or off — if you don't see it, your organization hasn't enabled it.
